How to use this calculator
Go through your bank or card statements and add all of your recurring purchases by category. Include forgotten app subscriptions, streaming services, software plans, memberships and online storage. For subscriptions billed annually, divide the yearly price by 12 before entering the amount.
The five-year perspective
Small bills often feel insignificant because they are spread across the month. Multiplying current prices over a longer period helps put them in perspective. The five-year number here holds prices constant — it is not a prediction of future subscription increases.
What to do with the result
Sort services into essentials, genuinely useful services and ones you rarely use. A cancellation may be worth more than a coupon: it saves money month after month. Consider annual billing only when you are confident you will use the service through the entire year.
Important exclusions
This tool does not access your bank accounts or cancel subscriptions. Taxes, usage fees, family sharing discounts and future price increases are not included unless you account for them in your entered amounts.
