How much could ordinary recurring charges add up to?
Subscriptions do not need to be individually expensive to become a meaningful budget line. The first step is not canceling everything; it is getting an accurate combined number.
What we put into the calculator
We model $30 in TV and streaming, $12 in music, $20 in apps, $0 in fitness, $10 in cloud storage and $5 in other monthly charges. The calculator totals these amounts and multiplies by 12 for an annual equivalent.
The numbers behind the result
| Monthly total | $77.00 |
|---|---|
| Five-year total | $4,620 |
| Average per day | $2.53 |
| Largest category | TV and streaming ($30.00/mo) |
What the result is really telling you
Look at your card statements for the previous 90 days and check whether quarterly or yearly renewals are missing. The largest category may not be the first one worth cutting; consider frequency of use and how much value you receive.
Try changing one number
Remove $20 per month from the apps category and observe the annual effect. Then compare it with reducing two different categories by $10 each.
