Compare the same unit
Both quantities must use the same measure (for example, fluid ounces, not ounces by weight). A price per unit is calculated by dividing each package price by its quantity.
Why the larger package is not always better
Bulk packaging can be cheaper per unit, but price differences can change during promotions. Consider whether you will use the product before it expires and whether you can store it.
What is excluded
Taxes, coupons, shipping and other costs are excluded unless included in the package prices. This calculates price efficiency, not quality or suitability.
