How to use the gpa (4.0 scale) calculator
How GPA is calculated
Each course grade is converted into grade points. Multiply grade points by that course’s credits, add those weighted points, then divide by total included credits.
Letter grade assumptions
This is a conventional unweighted 4.0 scale. A is 4.0, A− is 3.7, B+ is 3.3, B is 3.0, and so on. Schools may use different plus/minus values or weighting.
Unused classes
Set a class’s credits to zero to exclude it. This tool does not automatically include previous semesters, honors bonuses, pass/fail courses or institution-specific policies.

The calculator uses the numbers you provide and the assumptions explained above. Verify important inputs using your records or independent references.
